Addictions Counselling
Addiction is not a failure of willpower — it is a complex interaction between mental health, trauma, neurobiology, environment, and coping strategies. At Mind Over Matters, we provide non-judgemental, evidence-based addiction counselling to support people at any stage of change.
Whether you are questioning your substance use, seeking harm-reduction strategies, or working toward abstinence and long-term recovery, we meet you where you are.
What We Support
Our addiction counselling services support adults experiencing difficulties with:
Alcohol use
Prescription medication misuse
Illicit substances
Behavioural addictions (e.g. gambling, pornography)
Co-occurring mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, or burnout
We also support family members and loved ones affected by another person’s substance use.
What to Expect
A safe, confidential space free from shame or judgement
Practical strategies alongside deeper therapeutic work
Support for both short-term change and long-term recovery
Coordination with GPs, psychiatrists, or other services if needed (with consent)
You do not need to be “ready to quit” to begin counselling — ambivalence is welcome
