NDIS Mental Health Support
Swan Hill and Telehealth Across Australia
Mind Over Matters provides Capacity Building supports for self-managed and plan-managed participants across regional Victoria and via telehealth throughout Australia.
Our practice is led by an Accredited Mental Health Social Workers (AMHSW) with professional training and lived experience of neurodivergence and mental health challenges. That inside understanding isn't a footnote, it shapes everything about how we work.
We don't approach NDIS participants as cases to be managed. We work alongside you, at your pace, in a way that respects how your brain works and what matters most to you.
How it works
Step 1 — Contact Us
We're happy to answer questions about whether our supports are a good fit for your goals. Let us know you're an NDIS participant and how your plan is managed (self-managed or plan-managed), scheduling and practitioner preference. If you're unsure, your support coordinator or LAC can help you check or they can enquire on your behalf.
Step 2 - Your first appointment
Your first session is about getting to know each other. There's no script and no checklist to rush through. We'll talk about what's brought you here, what you're hoping for, and how we can work together in a way that actually fits your life.
Step 3 - Ongoing Support
Sessions can be regular or as-needed, whatever works best for you. We'll check in on your goals over time and adjust our approach as things change.
Who we support under the NDIS
We provide NDIS-funded mental health and therapeutic support for participants with:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) — autism-affirming counselling, identity work, and practical daily living support
AuDHD — combined autism and ADHD presentations - adult ADHD counselling, psychoeducation, executive functioning support, and emotional regulation
Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profile
Psychosocial disability — including anxiety, depression, and PTSD
Complex and developmental trauma
Neurodivergent profiles requiring adapted therapeutic approaches
Carers and family members supporting NDIS participants
We are a neuro-affirming practice. We understand neurodivergent presentations from the inside and our approach is adapted to the individual rather than applied from a generic template.
What Our NDIS Support Covers
We provide therapeutic counselling under the following Capacity Building line items. Here's what that actually means for you:
Assessment, Recommendation, Therapy or Training — Social Worker Line item: 15_621_0128_1_3
This is our core therapeutic support item. Under this line item, we can work with you on things like:
Processing trauma, grief, or difficult life experiences
Understanding your diagnosis and what it means for you
Building emotional regulation skills that work with your nervous system, not against it
Improving relationships and communication
Developing confidence and a stronger sense of self
Working through anxiety, depression, or the weight of masking
Sessions are adapted to your neurodivergent profile — slower, more exploratory, more collaborative than traditional therapy models.
Finding & Keeping a Job — Employment Related Assessment & Counselling
Line item: 10_011_0128_5_3
Work can feel like a minefield when you're neurodivergent — and the standard career advice rarely fits. Under this line item we can support you with:
Exploring what kinds of work genuinely suit your brain and values
Building confidence to enter, re-enter, or navigate the workplace
Communicating your needs and advocating for adjustments
Managing workplace stress, sensory load, and social demands
Working through barriers like rejection sensitivity, burnout, or past negative work experiences
Telehealth, Wherever You Are in Australia
You shouldn't have to move to a major city to access quality neurodivergent-affirming mental health support. That's one of the reasons telehealth matters so much to us.
Mind Over Matters offers NDIS-approved telehealth for self-managed and plan-managed participants across Australia. Sessions take place via secure video call and are just as effective as in-person and for many neurodivergent clients, the comfort of a familiar environment actually makes it easier to open up.
We regularly support clients in regional and remote areas, including across the Loddon Mallee region — Kerang, Cohuna, Robinvale, Balranald, Echuca, Wycheproof, Lake Boga and surrounding communities — as well as metropolitan and interstate clients across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and beyond.
Can't do video? Phone sessions are also available.
NDIS FAQs

No referral is needed. NDIS participants can enquire directly. If you have a support coordinator, they're welcome to make contact on your behalf.
-
Yes. All of our services are available via telehealth for NDIS participants across Australia. Sessions are delivered via secure video call, with phone sessions available where needed.
-
Get in touch and we'll have an honest conversation about it. If we can support you, we'll tell you how. If we're not the right fit, we'll do our best to point you in the right direction.
-
If you are self-managed, we will invoice you directly and you claim reimbursement from the NDIS portal. If you are plan-managed, we invoice your plan manager directly, you won't need to pay anything out of pocket. We'll ask for your plan manager's details when you book.
-
Unfortunately, we are not currently able to accept NDIA-managed participants. We work with self-managed and plan-managed participants only. If you're unsure how your plan is managed, check your NDIS plan document or ask your Local Area Coordinator (LAC).
