Our Approach to Counselling & Mental Health Support

Evidence-Based Practice Our work is grounded in approaches with strong research support including Neuro-affirming Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-focused modalities.

Trauma-Informed We understand that many people seeking mental health support carry histories of trauma, often unrecognised or unprocessed. A trauma-informed approach means we always prioritise safety, work at your pace, and never push you further than your nervous system can sustain.

Neuro-Affirming A neuro-affirming approach means looking at the bigger picture. Instead of asking "what's wrong?", we explore how your brain works, what your experiences have been, and what you need to feel supported. Together, we make sense of the challenges while also recognising your strengths and what makes you, you.

Person-Centred You are the expert on your own life. Our role is to provide the clinical knowledge, the relational safety, and the reflective space. Yours is to bring your experience, your goals, and your pace.

Lived Experience Our practice is informed by lived experience as well as professional expertise. We understand from the inside what it means to navigate mental health challenges and neurodivergence.
