Mental Health Contractor – Expressions of Interest
Mind Over Matters is an established independent mental health and social work practice based in Swan Hill, Victoria.
As our practice continues to grow, we're inviting Expressions of Interest from mental health professionals who may be interested in joining us as independent contractors.
We're particularly interested in hearing from indivduals with mental health & counselling experience:
Psychologists
PACFA-registered counsellors and psychotherapists
ACA-registered counsellors
Accredited Mental Health Social Workers (AMHSWs)
Qualified social workers.
This is an EOI rather than a specific advertised vacancy. We're interested in having conversations with clinicians who want flexible contracting opportunuties.
Flexible contracting
Depending on your preferences, client needs and professional requirements, you may be able to provide services through:
Telehealth / work from home
Provide appointments remotely and access clients Australia-wide where appropriate to your registration, professional requirements and scope of practice.
In person – Swan Hill
For clinicians interested in face-to-face work, we have opportunities to provide services from our Swan Hill practice.
A combination
Some practitioners may prefer a mix of telehealth and face-to-face appointments.
We're interested in flexible arrangements that can work alongside existing private practice, other employment or family commitments.
Contractor requirements
To work with Mind Over Matters as an independent contractor, practitioners will need to have:
A current ABN and operate as an independent business (Eg. Sole Trader/Partnership or Company)
Appropriate professional qualifications and registration/accreditation for your discipline
Professional indemnity insurance appropriate to their professional services
Public liability insurance
Insurance that is current and provides appropriate cover for the services and locations in which the contractor works, including services provided through Mind Over Matters
Any professional registration, membership, CPD and other requirements applicable to their profession
Evidence of current insurance, such as a Certificate of Currency, will be required before commencing services.
Contractors remain responsible for maintaining their own professional registrations, insurance, taxation and business obligations. Independent contractors generally operate under their own ABN and are responsible for their own tax, GST (where applicable) and superannuation arrangements.

We're a small, independent practice with a strong focus on Neuro-affirming, trauma-informed counselling, coaching and mental health support, in Swan Hill and via telehealth across Victoria and Australia.
Our approach is warm, down-to-earth and non-judgemental. We're particularly interested in practitioners who understand that people don't need to be "fixed" and who value working collaboratively with clients.

You don't need to work across all of these areas. We're interested in the skills, experience and perspective you bring!
